Let’s Go To Texas Reds and Whites Wine Tasting Room!

I’ve walked around downtown Austin so many times, and yet I’m still amazed by all the cool places in the city. Texas Reds and Whites wine tasting room is one of those hidden gems. But man, am I glad I discovered this place. I got invited out to an event featuring a handful of Texas wineries (and cheese!), and I jumped at the chance.

Texas Reds and Whites is the ONLY wine tasting room in the downtown Austin area. You don’t need to drive out into Hill Country to get a taste of the finest Texas wineries. You can do it all in one spot. What can you expect when you stop by? Let’s uncork the experience!

A Wine Tasting Room With a LOT of Wines

Texas Reds and Whites opened last fall, and they’ve already built up an impressive collection. You can try more than 100 wines in-store. Whether you’re a fan of red, white, rosé, pure grape juice, or anything else, they’ve got you covered.

Founders Martha Fischer and Diana Mortensen are happy to walk you through their collection to find the perfect wine for you. Texas Reds and Whites works with more than 30 wineries across the state. Most of the bottles can only be bought at the store or directly from the winery. Again, you gotta ask yourself if you really want to drive all the way to the Hill Country for a bottle. The flexibility of Texas Reds and Whites really is a nice feature.

During my visit, we sampled wines from C.L. Butaud, Majek Vineyard & Winery, Rancho Loma Vineyards, and Bent Oak Winery. And I was digging all of ‘em. I still probably have about 92 wines to go, but hey, you gotta start somewhere.

Hosting Events is a Breeze

There are a handful of different events you can do at Texas Reds and Whites. Wine tasting tours happen twice a month and are open to the public. But mostly, you’ll be setting up special events at the location. With a capacity of 55 people, you’re more than set for a bachelor or bachelorette party, office celebration, or just a good ol’ fashioned wine tasting soiree.

And I can’t stress this enough: Martha and Diana are TERRIFIC owners. They have some great stories, they’re super personable, and they want to make sure everyone’s having the best time. You don’t find that everywhere, so it’s worth noting.

These founders know their stuff and are a ton of fun.

On-the-Go Perks

Look, I totally understand: parking downtown anywhere is usually a pain. There are still parking meters in Austin that only take coins, for goodness’s sake. How many of us actually carry coins? I have a few dimes in my car, and that’s about it. And, like, six pennies. But those aren’t helpful.

Texas Reds and Whites has the solution, though: drive-by curb service. If your credit card is on file, you can pick your bottle(s) of choice over the phone. Your wine will be brought to your car at the curb outside of the store. No need to look for parking – it’s literally a drive-by wine grab. Amazing.

If you want to get your wine tasting on – or even are just craving a bottle of something local – go check out Texas Reds and Whites. You’ll have a terrific time and get to sample some of the state’s finest wines.
