Footnotes: Oikos Greek Yogurt John Stamos Commercial
In his post-Uncle Jesse career, John Stamos has made quite a name for himself as an Oikos Greek Yogurt spokesman. This ad first aired during the 2012 Super Bowl – where the New York Giants defeated the New England Patriots 21-17 if you’re scoring at home – and features John Stamos teasing a woman with promises of a spoonful of yogurt, only to playfully (and cruelly) yank the spoon away at the last second. It’s perhaps the finest John Stamos commercial around.
This was the first-ever yogurt commercial to air during the big game and was directed by then-21-year-old Remy Neymarc. That means the director of this commercial wasn’t even alive when Full House first aired. No word yet if he prefers Fuller House, instead.
What Do You Think About This John Stamos Commercial?
Let’s break down this ad, though. First of all, actress Jessica Blackmore is putting herself in harm’s way by trying to chomp down on this metal spoon full of yogurt. Have you ever had someone feed you with a metal spoon? It bangs against your teeth like a pinball machine. And she’s trying to eat when the spoon is moving wildly away from her? Is she crazy? Nothing is worth that risk.
Then again, maybe Blackmore has an extreme tolerance for pain. After all, she HEADBUTTS Uncle Jesse after he does a bit too much teasing. I’ve never headbutted anyone, but I can’t imagine it feels good. It’s like when you hit your head against a cabinet, or walk into a glass door because you think it’s open. Not that I’m basing that on experience, or anything…
In any case, Uncle Jesse should find somewhere else to eat yogurt. This John Stamos commercial shows he’s clearly no longer welcome in this home.
