Footnotes: Kibbles ‘n Bits Commercial
When it’s dinnertime, does your dog go absolutely bonkers? Because mine sure does. She runs around like I told her “be the Energizer bunny or I won’t feed you.” Of course, that’s not a real thing I’d say. I’m not a monster. I’ll feed you even if you’re not the Energizer bunny. But perhaps I’ve been giving her the wrong food – at least according to this Kibbles ‘n Bits Commercial. Let’s hop on in.
What a Dexterous Dog
This ad just gets wackier as it goes along. At first glance, we just see a little bit of a sad pup. Our star – a basset hound, an already funny-looking dog – longs for what the humans are eating. So much so that he ditches his dinner to go fetch a chair, which he then BRINGS TO THE TABLE.
Holy smokes, this dog is actually moving furniture with his front paws while walking on his back paws. My pooch occasionally will use her paws as hands and it’s super cute, but she’s never done this. I’m so impressed. That dog has to have opposable thumbs or something.
CGI Dog Dancin’ in this Kibbles ‘n Bits Commercial
If that weren’t enough, wait until the SECOND half of this commercial. The dog once again gets on his hind legs, but this time, he’s full out dancing. He’s even pulling out the lil’ “stay in your home” dance from Hitch. It’s incredibly unrealistic, but I dig it.
Perhaps the most outrageous thing, though, is the mom’s bored reaction. She’s almost giving a “this AGAIN?!” face. Like it happens so frequently that it’s almost annoying. Like if Fonzie said “ayyyy” every single time he spoke. FUHGETABOUTIT.
This isn’t even the first time a Kibbles ‘n Bits commercial has featured a dancing dog. It was the ENTIRETY of another spot. I’m just glad that funky rock riff still makes an appearance. Well done all around.
