Let’s Go to Urban: An American Grill! – Restaurant Review
American food is a classic for a reason. Few things are better than biting into something you know will bring back memories of home, of summer, of simpler times. Yet it can be easy to get stuck in a rut with American food, too. You just throw a burger or some chicken on the grill – sure, it’s tasty, but there’s a lot more you can do with it. Luckily, we’ve got places like Urban: An American Grill to put a delicious twist on some of our favorites.

These Appetizers Sure Look Appetizing!
Too often I’ll go to a place and order an appetizer, only to have a couple of disappointing morsels of food arrive. Let me just say that you’ll be well fed here. If you want a subtle but lasting kick, give the snap peas and green beans a try.
However, if you eat meat at all, the all-stars of the starters menu are the chicken lollipops. These are just what they sound like – chicken in lollipop form. They’re sort of a take on General Tso’s chicken, with an incredible aioli to dip in. Besides, there’s something so carnal and delightful about gnawing meat off of a bone. They’re a must-order.

Salad for Summertime
I sampled the Kale White Bean Salad during my visit. This is the Urban: An American Grill take on a panzanella salad, which features a buttermilk tahini dressing. These two aren’t typically paired together but they work very well as a combination. This salad was pretty filling on its own, and while it was my least favorite of the four items I tried, it was still quite tasty. You could definitely do a lot worse – and if you love kale, this is right up your alley.

You Want a Pizza Me?
Of course, any restaurant worth its salt that offers pizza will know how to deliver. And no, I’m not talking about delivery (though I suppose that’d be a cool feature, too). I’m talking about bringing you a pizza that tastes fantastic AND is not too shabby reheated the next day. Because when you order four items to tackle by yourself, your stomach becomes full, heavy, and spiteful.
The Urban Margherita Pizza immediately caught my eye for one reason: it features walnut pesto. That delightful base did not disappoint. Topped with arugula, shallots, fresh tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella, that’s one good lookin’ (and tastin’) pie. Can also confirm it is fabulous the next day and the pleasing smell will leave some, if not all, of your coworkers jealous.

The Atmosphere of Urban: An American Grill
Urban: An American Grill seems like the type of the place that might be very loud from the way the tables are structured. But that wasn’t the case; I enjoyed a quiet dinner despite being nearby several other diners. It’s got a nice quiet ambiance and a cool outdoor area that would be lovely in the spring or fall. It’s probably nice in the summertime, as well, though you’d need a cocktail or six to stay hydrated.
For some pretty unique twists on all of your classic favorites, stop by Urban: An American Grill at the Domain. They’ve recently added a ton of new menu items, too. And, well…those new dishes aren’t going to eat themselves. Give ‘em a try and let me know what you think! Oh, and make sure you save room for dessert.
