Chobani Bear Commercial – Phat Phoodies Footnotes
Picture this: You’re at a grocery store, picking up some mac and cheese or rutabaga, or whatever you’re craving. All of a sudden, the walls start to shake. The floors tremble. You look up at the ceiling, and the light fixtures are crumbling down. What’s going on? Is it an earthquake? A helicopter taking off? NONE OF THE ABOVE: there’s a bear in the grocery store! Yes, this Chobani bear commercial has made your worst nightmare come true.
A Growling Good Time
First of all, the amount of destruction this grizzly causes is truly impressive. The carnage runs throughout the whole store. Frozen pizzas get thrown behind counters. Windows get smashed. It’s complete mayhem. In fact, it’s as if the Mayhem guy from the Allstate commercials was wearing a bear suit. Wait a minute…maybe he IS…it all makes so much sense now. This Chobani bear commercial really has me thinking.
Anyway, people respond in a completely understandable way: by FREAKING OUT. I mean, if I turn to my right and see a bear knocking over an entire aisle of condiments, I probably ain’t sticking around. Of course, the poor cashier is unable to escape, so she just hides behind the checkout counter. Until…
Gentle Ben Makes an Appearance
The bear is ready to check out and suddenly becomes the tamest creature ever. He uses an individual claw to ring the bell counter. This grizzly, who couldn’t be bothered to keep display counters upright, is now delicately dinging a bell? What madness!
His patience soon wears thin, though. After leafing through a couple of magazines on the counter (he appears intrigued by US Weekly’s “Hairiest Celebs Ever” edition), he picks up the yogurt and just walks out. Doesn’t even bother paying! Though, let’s be fair – where would a bear keep its money? This one doesn’t appear to have a purse or a European carry-all.
The Chobani Bear Commercial Can Teach Us All A Little Something
Namely, if a bear comes into your county store, just let him take whatever he wants. Kudos to the bear for only grabbing one yogurt, though. Everything in moderation.
